Hurt People Hurt People: The Supremacist Mindset
Whether it’s money, power, or status, the supremacist mindset has infected our world as we know it. This thought process entails the feeling of being superior to others. The desire for dominance has led to many tragic, historically traumatizing events. The constant chase for these superficial rankings is like being stuck in a collective, societal cycle of abuse. We continue to repeat history with wars, corrupt politics and systematic racism. By always trying to one-up each other, we lose sight of our fight for equality and equity.

Art is for Fools and Here's Why
Art is foolish. It is an industry that has existed forever and will continue this way until the end of time. All because we love looking at things. It doesn’t matter how ‘high-caliber’ the art, we like shiny, pretty, colorful objects. Why? Because it’s cool. We spend our money on these items because it makes us feel good. Is it necessary? No. Is it economical? Usually no. Does it bring any tangible use to us? Probably not. Being an artist is the true foolery, and this is why.

Another Underdog Concept: Design Thinking
Design thinking is another way to think. It can be thought of as the opposite of linear thinking. This concept of design thinking dates back to the mid-19th century and is incredibly useful. It is a way to proceed with innovation in a manner that works for unusual thinkers. In fact, it’s malleable to whatever person decides to use it. This mode of thought incorporates something we all contain; creativity. This method uses a human’s innate ability to create, make mistakes and adapt. We all have an imagination that could potentially change the world. A bold statement, yes, but an exaggeration, absolutely not.

Lack of Goof
What is goof? Goof is a lovely term used to describe an individual who is goofy. Ha! Goof is definitively a mistake, or something stupid. Colloquially, it’s somebody who jokes around, makes fun out of anything, and overall has a good time. Goof is being carefree and unserious. Goofiness can lead to laughter or very blank stares. There is no right or wrong way to be goofy. The only wrong way to be goofy is to not be goofy at all. Goofballs exist at every corner. Debatably, there is a goofball inside us all. Interestingly enough, there is an utter lack of goof in the air of society. What the goof happened?

Finding Your Creative Niche
Creativity is chaos. There can be organized chaos within creative spaces, but chaos is chaos, man. What are you gonna do about it? Embrace it. The most cliche answer possible, yet the truth bears its ugly face in this form again. Embracing when we most feel stressed can lead to a more open environment to create our best work. By ‘best work’ I mean the work we feel fulfilled doing. It may not get us to that higher status so many of us strive for, but that’s not why we’re here, is it?

I Told You Not to Put the Cat on eBay
One day, I was sitting in my living room on the phone with my father. I kept hearing scratching over and over again. When I went to check to see what the hell Zeke was up to this time, I was furious. I’m a potter and my roommate’s cat was aggressively scratching at the cardboard protection surrounding the wet clay. So I tried to get him to stop, and of course, he would not. He’s a cat. He does this stuff for attention, too. So eventually, I get him out of there, and I continue my conversation with my dad.

Revolution is the Only Answer
Everything is changing nowadays; the climate, politics, the way we talk to each other, etc. There is constant emotional and physical turmoil happening in the world right now, and it is time we really address it. People are dying, as always, but in unacceptable ways. Those who are supposed to protect us are destroying us. What are we going to do about it?

Is Traveling Really THAT Expensive?
What’s your dream? When asked what someone’s dream in life is, many say they would love to travel the world. Almost every time they lead that up with, “if I had enough money.” Time and time again it has been assumed that traveling is very costly. That makes being a traveler highly unattainable in the minds of many of my fellow dreamers. There’s this façade that people must have money to follow their dreams. It’s a lie. You can live your dream, and cheaply at that! This sounds like an ad, but it’s really just a passionate pep talk. Every one of you deserves to follow your heart and discover the world. All you need is ten months. Keep reading, and an open mind, and you shall find out how.

Why Did I Stop Being Creative? (you didn’t!)
Creativity. Or lack thereof. This topic hits deep for many of my fellow artists out there. Creativity is like a drug; when we have it we can’t get enough, without it we get sad. Like really sad. This trait is something everybody possesses, yet why is it such an anomaly?
