Dear NFL fans,

The Dallas Cowboys are, always have an will always be America's Team. Deal with it.

Yeah the phrase is egotistical, and been undeserved at times, however, it's an incontrovertible truth.

Below is the full explanation why, the boys are 'merica's team!

NFL Films

"America's Team" was not a self-proclaimed moniker. Actually, Bob Ryan, a longtime NFL Films executive coined the phrase in the Cowboys' 1978 highlight reel.

In the film, the narrator opens with, "They appear on television so often that their faces are as familiar to the public as presidents and movie stars. They are the Dallas Cowboys, 'America's Team.'"

The following season, the Cowboys were introduced by a CBS announcer as America's Team on national television.

And, I suppose one could say the rest is history?

The Stadium

Inside AT&T Stadium.

The newly constructed AT&T Stadium features three million square feet of space, with a maximum capacity of over 105,000 people.

The stadium offers a retractable rood and glass end zone walls, field-level luxury suites, museum quality artwork, and one of the world's largest HD-TV's. The field sits 50 feet below ground level, which offers its fans a panoramic view as soon as they enter the stadium.

The stadium also offers fans off-field attractions such as a Cowboys Hall of Fame.

Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones has been general manager for the Dallas Cowboys for close to thirty years.

"Go big or go home"—the expression every Cowboys fan can agree Jerry Jones lives by.

He's an entrepreneur who has a passion for the game and a strong desire to win.

Nearly 15 percent of Jones' draft picks have ended up in the Pro Bowl, which is the best tract record among active general managers.

Multiple Championships

The Dallas Cowboys have won five Super Bowl championships.

The Cowboys are tied with the San Francisco 49ers, and may be one short of the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Super Bowl wins, however, they've made eight Super Bowl appearances—which, to fans, is a pretty damn good accomplishment. They're tied with the Steelers for appearances.

Popularity

The Dallas Cowboys are always ranked in the top five, whether it's Twitter data, Facebook data, television ratings, attendance statistics and even merchandise sales.

No matter the years that pass by, the Cowboys are still relevant, and continue to rise.

Legendary Players

Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman; the Dallas Cowboys triplets

The players are what makes the Cowboy's 'America's Team.'

Players like Bob Lilly, Tony Dorsett, Randy White, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, and Roger Staubach (among many others) have made it into the Hall of Fame.

America's Sweethearts

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

To be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader is a big deal—they're America's sweethearts for America's team.

Cheerleaders in the NFL have existed since 1954, but it was the Cowboys who helped redefine the modern cheerleading in football.

Today's franchise cheerleaders are more than just a "pretty face," these women serve as ambassadors; they help teams develop a positive public image.

Thanksgiving Day Games

When you think of Thanksgiving, most associate the holiday with gratitude, feasting, family gathering, and football. It's become an American tradition to watch the Dallas Cowboys every holiday.

We can all thank former general manger, Tex Schramm for that.

Rivals

The Dallas Cowboys face off with the Washington Redskins

Being a Cowboys fan, you realize how much hatred there is for them in the world. People actually love to hate the Cowboys.

A poll conducted by the Public Policy Polling discovered the Dallas Cowboys came out on top as being the most disliked, followed by the Chicago Bears.

Maybe the dislike originates from the Cowboys' willingness to use their disputed nickname freely.

But here's the thing—teams want what the Cowboys have.

Net Worth

The Dallas Cowboys have been the NFL's most valuable team with an estimated worth of $3.2 billion, according to Forbes magazine. The Cowboys have made the top of the list, for eight years.

They are actually the second most valuable team in all sports, sitting next to Real Madrid Soccer, at $3.4 billion.

Branding

The Dallas Cowboys logo.

The Cowboys have sported a lone star for nearly 50 years. The logo is simple, yet symbolic. And, it's one of the most easily recognizable designs on the planet.

Texas

America's Team is located in the heart of where football is a big deal.

Friday night lights decide a youth's fate in the state of Texas.

Tom Landry

Coach Tom Landry set records for the Cowboys.

Tom Landry is known as one of the greatest coaches of all time. He was the first head coach of the Cowboys, where he held the position for 29 years, including 20 straight winning seasons.

Landry amassed 250 regular season wins, 20 post season wins, 13 NFC East titles, five NFC titles and two Super Bowl championships.

The former coach was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Cowboys' Ring of Honor in 1993.
