Melina Perez's 5 Best Evil Moments
Today is the birthday of my all time favorite icon in the world of women's wrestling: Melina Perez. I've mentioned my Melina fandom on Vocal a few times, including writing about actually meeting her via a virtual meet and greet (I'm still surprised that I wasn't nervous through the whole thing). I love so many things about Melina, but of course, the thing I love the most is her immense ability to portray a villainess on-screen.

After playing an even first half in the out bracket game versus 12th seeded Rye Neck, John Jay fell behind by a dozen in the third. Refusing to give in nonetheless, the Wolves came back and forced overtime on Wednesday February 14. So five more minutes added, the boys definitely didn’t shy away.

Sunday, February 11 was day two of the Section One Wrestling Tournament at the County Center, and five Somers Wrestlers were still alive. Three reaching the finals, only one came out on top, and in the waning seconds of the deciding match, the Tusker looked up in the direction of his family to signify that he was halfway there.

I've said many times that I'm grateful to WWE for filling that void left by the NHL lockout in 2004-2005. Fortunately, a lot of wild stuff was happening on WWE television at that time. The tail end of 2004 saw the World Heavyweight Championship picture become quite interesting on Raw, while SmackDown had a lot of interesting developments going on that brand. Among them was the hiring of a new General Manager: Theodore Long.

Apologies for not writing in a while and even being very late in this reaction. Life behind the keyboard has been interesting to say the least. But Kayla making her way to the UFC is too important of a topic for me NOT to talk about before it's too late. Kayla Harrison is now officially in the UFC and will make her debut at UFC 300 in April against Holly Holm. This is MONSTEROUS news for the WMMA world and WMMA fans. I truly never expected this day to happen. I always thought Kayla would be another MMA "What-If", but nope she's now in the UFC.

Please see pledge, subscribe and tip option below On Monday January 29, Somers faced Yorktown at the high school and at least a share of the league title was at stake for the Tuskers. A match that began with a hard fought 12-11 decision, which unfortunately didn’t go in favor of Loghan Dwyer. But the loss did not deter his teammates, and the 40 ensuing points really gave their coach something to hang his hat on.

Please See Tip, Pledge and Subscribe option at end of the article.... When a wrestling match is still undecided by the time the heavyweight or super heavyweight takes to the mat, the finality faced is an awful lot of pressure. So the first kid out there must be pretty relieved to be a lightweight. But that’s not entirely true, and John Jay’s 101 pounder revealed the pressure point after Thursday’s match against Eastchester on January 23. “The team depends on whoever goes first to get the energy going,” said David Corrales, and the 8th grader delivered.

Twenty years. Can't believe it's been twenty years. One of the most amazing moments in WWE history happened on the evening of February 15, 2004, and it was on that night that Eddie Guerrero finally reached the top of the proverbial mountain and captured the World Wrestling Entertainment Championship. Eddie's road wasn't easy. A wrestling career that began in his late teenage years, and included stints in AAA, New Japan, and most notably (at that time) World Championship Wrestling. After five years in WCW, Eddie debuted in the then-named World Wrestling Federation promotion in 2000 as part of The Radicalz faction.

I absolutely, positively love the Royal Rumble! It's my all time favorite event in WWE. The easy answer to give when asked about one's favorite WWE event is definitely WrestleMania, but for me, it's the Rumble. The reason is because of the Rumble match. It matches the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs when it comes to chaos; so much happens in that match that impresses and shocks fans. I still remember really wanting the women to have that same chaos of their own, and in 2018, it finally happened.

Click below last year's photos On Tuesday, December 19, John Jay traveled to Hen Hud and fell behind 28-18. So the next two matches were crucial, and after Austin Omin got his team a six spot, Jake Llanos must have felt the weight of his turn for the entire team. “No, I just focused on my match,” said the 170 pounder, and the results can’t be argued with.
