Football Reigns Supreme in the Sports Business…But for How Long?
Introduction The Super Bowl is almost, in effect, a national holiday today! The National Football League (NFL) reigns supreme in terms of every metric in the world of sports, from television audiences to revenue! The biggest NFL stars - from Patrick Mahomes to a guy who happens to be dating Taylor Swift (Travis Kelce) are not just football stars, but they are major celebrities and media powers today. But today, college football is also a huge revenue-producing machine, with its huge TV ratings, intense fan interest and support, and yes, with “student-athletes” today able to earn money for themselves - big money in many instances - from NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals. And even high school football is getting into the act, with nationally televised games on ESPN and high school athletes having their own NIL deals before they ever set foot on a college campus.

Digital_FootPrintPublished 4 months ago in UnbalancedHurt People Hurt People: The Supremacist Mindset
Whether it’s money, power, or status, the supremacist mindset has infected our world as we know it. This thought process entails the feeling of being superior to others. The desire for dominance has led to many tragic, historically traumatizing events. The constant chase for these superficial rankings is like being stuck in a collective, societal cycle of abuse. We continue to repeat history with wars, corrupt politics and systematic racism. By always trying to one-up each other, we lose sight of our fight for equality and equity.

For the third straight season and fourth out of the last six, we traveled Bloomington, Indiana to see the Hoosier Open. Wait, we've gotta correct that, the meet known as the Hoosier Open seems to be no more. As change is always inevitable, Indiana has now created the IU Early Bird meet, that took place on Dec. 8. Continuing on the theme that is change, there were many All-Americans and other talents who were sporting new uniforms after transferring. The sun hung low over the picturesque hills of Kentucky, casting long shadows across the rolling landscape. In a quiet corner of this idyllic countryside, a small and weathered garage echoed with the clinks and clatters of tools, the heartbeat of a dream in the making. This was the unlikely birthplace of an underdog team destined to challenge the giants of the Formula 1 world.
