Could This Be the Best Basketball Player of All-Time?

"The Perfect Teammate?"

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are headed the 2019 NBA Finals.

When it’s all said and done, where will we rank Stephen Curry on the all-time list? For now, let’s shift our focus to the present. Although, I will not mind speculating that he may be the greatest basketball player to ever step on the court. Okay, okay, back to business. His presence on the court yells for attention. The ability to continuously get open creates a team dynamic, which in a sense brings an unselfish style of play. With the ball, without the ball, Stephen Curry's style of play is compared to none before him. The poise to deliver over and over again allows for Head Coach Steve Kerr and Ownership to sit back and enjoy their Piña Coladas.

So then the question is: Can any NBA player replicate what we the viewers are watching from Curry? To answer my own question, it’s a pretty simple answer and that is NO! 👎

The joy and passion—and to you Mark Jackson, “Heart”—is what this man is all about. I cannot agree more, but you of all people should understand that what we are watching is History in Process! That is In the Process, because in the making, it was five years ago when they won their first championship.

Stephen Curry deserves all the praise and glory for carrying the Golden State Warriors back to the NBA Finals for a historic fifth year in a row. Definitely out of topic, but for us McDonald's connoisseurs, Curry is to basketball as the Big Mac sauce is to two patties and three buns. Again, that could be the worst analogy that’s ever been put together and published, but the point is that he’s the proof to the pudding. Maybe I shouldn't write when hungry. To satisfy this feeling, we must now wait nine days and nights where the defending champs will once again defend their title.

The point is, let’s not take for granted the fact that he’s already the greatest shooter of all-time, and I’m willing to go as far as to say that he is the “Perfect Teammate.” A combination of what makes the greatest player of all-time? Hard work, leadership, talent, repetition, luck, rings, etc. are all keys to his puzzle. It reminds me a bit of the fit Tony Parker had with Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs—without the three-ball, of course. Stats speak for themselves, and no, I'm not going into the “with or without KD Convo.” With KD, they are definitely the favorites to win for a third straight year, and to be honest, without him they are still by far the better team of the Western Conference entering the 2019 Finals.

Anyways, back to the “Perfect Teammate,” his simpleness has allowed for that locker room to mesh for so many years and his demeanor not only brings people close to him, but it also allows him and his teammates to play for each other. Yes, he can play, there will never be a doubt of that in the history books—yet, I must finish by saying that his willingness and effort allow for such freedom on the court.
