Everyone knows the sound of a bat. Whether it's wood or aluminum, its noise is distinct. Each player has a different sound when they make contact, depending on where they hit the ball. At one time, in the major leagues, the most common bat used was Louisville Slugger. But things have changed across all levels of the game. Aluminum bats are now equipped with modern technologies to improve a player's game. These bats now include vibration reduction technology, larger barrels, and unique grips. Some of the top switch-hitters of all time may have trained with these bats. While BBCOR bats are primarily used for high school and college level ball, they can also be used for lower levels with certification. Here are the best BBCOR baseball bats in 2018.

The Easton Beast X Speed Bat is a lightning rod in your hands. Made with the latest Advanced Thermal Alloy Construction alloy, this bat is strong and light. With its Hyperskin grip, the bat feels comfortable in your hands, absorbing any shock or vibration. This bat is part of the Beast X series, which also includes the Beast X Loaded and the Beast X Hybrid but only surpasses the two because of its balanced swing weight. The ATAC alloy also makes the barrel of the bat the strongest of any other BBCOR bat, making it easy to swing for the fences. The Beast X Speed is perfect for any level of high school or college.

This Louisville Slugger is consistently rated near the top of available BBCOR bats. The combination of a very balanced swing weight and thick barrel makes this bat very smooth on impact. It doesn't hurt to have TRU3 connection system, which helps eliminate vibration. Also equipped with a Lizard Skins grip on the handle, the Louisville Slugger Prime 918 is one of the best BBCOR baseball bats and one of the most comfortable bats available. This bat is ready to hit home runs right out of the wrapping.

The biggest draw to the Rawlings Quatro Composite Bat is its premier exit velocity and large barrel, meaning harder hit balls. The Rawlings Quatro has a reduced swing weight, giving hitters more speed and follow through. This reduction in weight also decreases the vibration, absorbing any negative energy felt through the handle. The result is a comfortable, smooth bat that generates a ton of power that could result in some of the best opening day performances in MLB history.

The Marucci Cat7 Bat has an Anti-Vibration Knob which absorbs any vibration, making it easy to follow through with your swing. The other bonus to this bat is its thick, large barrel, which increases the sweet spot, producing bigger hits. This bat comes in different sizes for all ages but still has one of the most satisfying sounds and is still one of the best BBCOR baseball bats you can find.

Here's another Easton BBCOR bat that is popular among players. Instead of Easton's Beast X Speed bat, which is a one piece alloy construction, the Ghost X is a two piece construction. The Ghost X incorporates a Dynamic Feel System which helps to eliminate the stinging vibration when you hit the ball. Also included in the bat is an extended barrel, making it the longest composite barrel among BBCOR bats, making the sweet spot hard to miss. Just like the Beast X Speed, the Ghost X also has the Hyperskin grip, which makes it easy to follow through with your swing.

One of the more inexpensive, quality BBCOR bats is the Combat 2018 MAXUM. While the manufacturer, Performance Sports Group, recently went bankrupt, the MAXUM is the company's swan song. This bat has a large sweet spot, almost 20–40 percent larger than most others. Using Precision Molding Technology has given the bat no dead spots, making it one of the best BBCOR baseball bats available.

Rawlings is one of the most trusted names in baseball, producing gloves, bats, and various accessories, so we had to include another one of their bats. The Velo Hybrid Balanced Bat is made entirely of aluminum alloy, producing that loud ringing sound. Rawlings uses POP 2.0 technology, which gives a much bigger sweet spot in the barrel. With a strong, comfortable grip, this bat absorbs most vibrations and is very light and easy to swing.

We've got another Louisville Slugger here, and for good reason. Some of the best rookie seasons in MLB history were hit with Louisville Sluggers. The Omaha 518 is one solid piece of aluminum alloy that has a huge sweet spot. Designed with a special end cap, this bat has a very balanced swing weight, making it easy to control. While the Omaha 518 is generally made for younger age groups like little league, this is one of the best BBCOR baseball bats and a comfortable option for hitters.

Another trusted name in baseball is Mizuno, who has developed the 2018 Mizuno Ghost bat. This bat has one of the largest barrels out of any other, utilizing Black Onyx Carbon, which makes it one of the most durable bats available. The Mizuno Ghost is ready to use right away and doesn't require any break-in swings. Another added feature is the bat's Power Ring technology, which softens any vibration and shifts the energy to the barrel. This bat also has a balanced swing weight, making it a consistent choice for any collegiate player.

The DeMarini CF Zen Bat is developed with a 3Fusion system, comprised of the handle and end cap, making the bat more durable. This system also transfers negative energy into the barrel, which gives the bat more power. The addition of Paraflex puts strong carbon fibers in the barrel, creating a massive sweet spot. While the sound of the best BBCOR baseball bats is about the same, the DeMarini CF Zen has a pop that sounds more like a wooden bat.
