Crowded (Week 15)
It never fails. Every December features an NFL playoff race that is just captivating, entertaining, thrilling, and yes, mind-boggling. As it often does, it gets tighter as the weeks run out, but this year has been just insane. The results of Week 14 have seen one team lock in a spot in the 2023 playoffs, but the remaining 13 spots have nearly the whole league still alive and very close in record, for the most part.
Clyde E. DawkinsPublished 4 months ago in UnbalancedNFL Week 14 Recap: We Have to Talk About Patrick
OK, let's talk about the elephant in the room. Coming off their primetime loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Kansas City Chiefs returned home to host the Buffalo Bills, and we know the history there. The Chiefs have been Buffalo's playoff bogeyman for a few years now, and in this meeting, KC was looking to bounce back against a Bills team who is unpredictable. Buffalo's known for losing to teams they should beat, yet in KC, they were on fire. Bills led the whole game, and that included a late 20-17 lead in the fourth quarter. However, in typical fashion, the Chiefs came back in unorthodox fashion: Patrick Mahomes tosses it to Travis Kelce, who then throws a lateral to Kadarius Toney, who scores a go-ahead touchdown. Chiefs take the lead, and were set to beat the Bills again.

Before an empty Contest Field on Thursday November 9, the John Jay faculty gathered for a coed game of flag football. Not seeking any attention, the ten players were just after a break in the action between seasons. But while there was a lot of laughter and good cheer, the contingent of mostly coaches actually lit it up.

You know how every reality show has that trainwreck cast member who we just can't quit watching, no matter how much we should just look away? That's the NFC South in the NFL. And apparently, the football gods liked seeing this division go to pot so much, that they decided to bring back this wacky recurring character for a second season.

10. Colts 7-5 Who saw this coming? The Colts are one of the hottest teams in football. When Anthony Richardson got injured, many thought the season would be over, but the Colts have fought hard every week, and if the season ended today, they would be in the playoffs.

Video courtesy of and with permission of NYSPHSAA On Friday November 17, Somers faced Averill Park at Mahopac High School in the Regional Finals of the New York State Football Tournament, and Coach Anthony DeMatteo’s game plan didn’t go heavy on any sophisticated array of X’s and O’s. “We felt it was going to be physical, and we thought we could match that up with our guys upfront,” he said. A successful game plan that theTuskers didn’t wait to implement either.

Introduction: Two Magic Words - “It Depends!” One thing is for certain. Ask any consultant - usually loosened up after a few beers - what their “go-to” move is, and more than likely, you will hear what can be the several thousands of dollars - or much, much more - worth of wisdom that companies will pay highly for today. Every consultant has an area of expertise. Otherwise, what would they consult about (now no, we all know that doesn’t stop some people, now does it?).

Week 13 was quite chaotic; so many changes to the playoff picture in the National Football League, with many teams climbing the ranks. Five weeks remain in the season, and while it seems like very little time, it's still plenty of time for teams looking to make an impact. While the last six weeks of the season serve as the home stretch, panic time doesn't really start until Christmas hits, and that's still a few weeks away.

On Friday November 10, Somers faced Harrison for the Section One Championship and the game had as odd a start as possible. Despite the Eagle offense not getting the chance to touch the ball in the first quarter, the second seed scored two touchdowns. A pair of kickoff returns, Somers didn’t startle and ultimately went about their winning ways

The month of December is here, NFL fans! That final month that decides who will live on to join the big dance, and who will miss out completely, as well as the teams who will end up with the best draft picks. Week 13 kicked off the final home stretch of the season, and it ended with the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the Cincinnati Bengals, with the latter actually having a chance to actually move up to the #1 seed in the AFC. The Bengals played their second game without Joe Burrow, and regarding this outing, it was as back and forth as you can get.

Are you finally ready to admit that Jordan Love is HIM?! Entering this week, the Green Bay Packers had been on a bit of a mini-roll, beginning with a home win over the Los Angeles Chargers on two weeks prior. Now Love doubters will say, "It's the Chargers, big deal." The Chargers are better than people say they are, but even so, the big test came on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. This was a win we needed and it was against a Lions team that is not like the version we had seen for years. Love knew this, and absolutely dominated the Lions in Motown. A massive win on Thanksgiving against a Lions team who is favored to win the NFC North this season.
