The Agony and Ecstasy of Fantasy Football: A Love-Hate Story
Ah, Fantasy Football, the annual emotional roller coaster that has me questioning my sanity more than any other aspect of my life. It's a love-hate relationship that keeps me glued to my computer screen, refreshing player stats, and yelling at my TV every Sunday. Let me take you on a journey through the highs and lows of my Fantasy Football obsession.

You know the old saying: time flies when you're enjoying a version of football that has all sorts of amazing perks. The home stretch of the season, the final seven weeks, the last one-third, has arrived, and for one team, everything could be settled and determined in just one fell swoop. The Toronto Argonauts locked in a playoff spot a week prior, and regarding Week 15, they were one win away from locking up first place in the East Division. All they had to do was defeat the Montréal Alouettes yet again, but it looked a bit iffy for the Boatmen.

10. Lions The Lions are down five spots from last week, but they are still the best one and one team. Of the one and one teams, the Lions have the most impressive win and loss. They beat the Chiefs and were cheated in the Seahawks game. They went blow for blow with the Seahawks, and then, in the moment of truth, Hutchinson was held right in front of the ref, preventing him from sacking Geno and allowing the Seahawks to win the game. So, there is no reason to cool off of the Lions.

What now? Those two words had to have been repeated on a loop by fans of the New York Jets after Monday's season opener. The Jets, their fans, and every football fan (myself included and especially)--all of us were eagerly wondering how the Jets would fare with Aaron Rodgers as their QB. After months of anticipation, Rodgers made his Jets debut on the Monday Night Football opener, had four plays...and then the injury happened. That was a shocking blow to the Jets and their fans, as Rodgers ended up in the tent and later carted off. Out for the rest of the game. The Jets had to persevere with Zach Wilson at QB, and for that night, they did--winning in comeback fashion in overtime over the Buffalo Bills.

Click for Photos : https://richmonetti.smugmug.com/SomersThursdayFF/ The oppressive heat gone, the Westchester Female Flag Football League was on again Thursday August 3, and Christine Koenitzer was among the players who chilled the chance to take a breather from motherhood. “It’s time for us,” said the Yorktown resident. But the respite didn’t keep the quarterback and her team from turning up the heat on Cosmic Charlie’s Angels of Katonah.

10. Saints AP Photo/Tyler Kaufman This was a highly contested spot on the Power Rankings. The Saints got this spot because they showed a lot of room to grow and got the win. They had a new QB in his first game with a new team. It was a defensive battle early, much like a lot of the games of week one, but eventually, the Saints got rolling.

Fantasy Football is BACK!
Despite being English, I have found myself becoming more and more enamoured with the sport that the Americans call “football”. Watching American Football in the UK used to be a most difficult proposition, aside from the Superbowl the only way to watch any action was a highlights show at 1am on a Wednesday morning. During the nineties and early 2000’s I was school aged, but after that coverage started to improve. In recent years Sky Sports have added the Thursday and Monday night games, as well as three Sunday matches. Even then, the absolutely baffling decision to host games only on nights when most people have work confuse me no end. But as my interest has grown, I’ve put additional effort into trying to keep up with the games when I can. My wife has since joined me in this interest, but unlike me she is a reasonable person, who goes to bed at a sensible time rather than staying up into the night watching foreign sports and typing up nonsense for strangers to read (4th wall break! Hi, thanks for reading).

NFL Week 1 Recap: A New York Minute
The NFL is back, and this fan was ever so eager for the season to start. My reasons were simple. One, I had a good feeling about Fantasy Football this year, and two, I'm a Yankees fan who wants to forget about this disaster of a season. With every new NFL season comes new storylines and new questions, and one of the biggest new storylines of the debuting 2023 NFL season had to be Aaron Rodgers making his New York Jets debut on Monday Night Football.

The CFL is coming off a wild Labour Day Weekend of games, and it looked like Week 14 was set to duplicate the excitement we received a week prior. Similar to the previous week, there were clinching scenarios, but this time, two teams can get into this year's playoffs. One of the two teams: none other than the defending Grey Cup Champions, the Toronto Argonauts. The scenario was simple, win and in. That's it. It's always nice to have that scenario, isn't it?
