The second episode of Game of Thrones gets the war going

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Looks like Game Of Thrones is setting up all the pieces again — HOLY CRAP, WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

Seriously, what?! I expected a Battle of the Greyjoy’s at some point, but not so early in the season. And what a gruesome, terrific battle it was. Yara and Theon got their butts handed to them by their uncle Euron, who very easily destroyed their entire fleet? Maybe? It looks like the Iron Fleet has been completely eradicated, which puts a huge dent in Daenerys’ plan to win the Iron Throne.

We should have seen something coming, especially after Olenna Tyrell’s message to Daenerys about not listening to ‘clever men.’ As awesome as the moment at Dragonstone was, putting such major players in the same room and making it seem like the throne was going to be won easily, should have been an alert that it would not be easy. Two out of three sand snakes are now gone — killed by Euron back-to-back. Euron is coming off a great warrior, and is absolutely ruthless and malicious. Maybe a Euron/Cersei marriage is in the future.

Ellaria and her daughter Obella are captured, as well as Yara. Perhaps these are the gifts that Euron promised Cersei. Theon, being Theon, jumps overboard and stays alive by hanging onto a piece of debris. Where will Theon float to next? Who knows. Everyone pretty much wants him dead. I can still see Theon getting his hero moment at some point, since the universe is seemingly so hellbent on redeeming his character.

Speaking of redemption, Ser Jorah is going to be healed by Sam and his procedure. Jorah, too will get his redemption, moments before he dies. I’m sure of it. Once again, Sam proves his worth in this world. He heals Jorah and sends the raven to Jon about the dragonglass beneath Dragonstone. Now we are going to get the epic moment of Jon and Daenerys meeting. Can you believe it? It’s going to happen!

I thought Bran would’ve made it to Winterfell by now, but I guess not. Bran always seems to be traveling like a turtle compared to everyone else. But I suppose Bran’s relevance is put on the back-burner a little bit, given the fact that the war between Queens is taking prominence.

Arya making the choice to go the Winterfell made me fist pump. I’m not joking. I looked like Tiger Woods making a shot.

I cannot wait for her to get back home and meet Sansa! And to immediately get pissed off and frustrated with her. What I did not expect was for Arya to meet Nymeria, who is now a fully grown Direwolf! Thank goodness. While Nymeria has grown apart from Arya over the past… however many years have passed in the show, I do expect Nymeria and her wolf pack to make a return at some point. Most likely in the battle against the White Walkers.

Getting away from the North, Cersei and Jamie are rallying their troops and ready to kill dragons. Yes, they have a crossbow that is strong enough to pierce a dragon’s skull. 1000%, one of the dragons is going to get shot/killed by that crossbow. They wouldn’t show it otherwise.

Most of this episode feels fan-service-y. That is clearly intentional. As we are getting to the end, seeing these characters meet and reunite is very satisfying. Even seeing the couple that definitely is not a couple in the books, Missandei and Grey Worm, being intimate with each other, felt like a win.

I did not expect everything to go 0 to 100 that quickly, but given the limited amount of episodes left, it makes sense. It seems like there will be another epic battle next week, and I really hope that Grey Worm does not die. It’s too early for that.

P.S. Where’s Daario? Don’t be surprised by a sudden reemergence of Dany’s favorite paramour.
